Welcome to Eduvite.

A place to bring you new resources and share ideas

 EN CALEDONIE

This is a lively new resource about New Caledonia incorporating NZ Level 2 and 3 vocab and going a little beyond for Cambridge. Being online this resource is constantly growing with extra material added as ideas are born.

The resource consists of 19 chapters, each self contained, which act as a springboard for teachers to launch discussion on current themes-La technologie, la forme et la santé, l école et après, l'environnement, le chomage et le monde sans travail, les dépendances, la maladie etc

Coloured text has been used to bring required words to students' attention.

Teachers faced with combined senior classes will welcome this resource as it can be used at both levels as well as for separate classes. Of course the story incorporates heaps of visual material and up to date vocabulary with the aim of giving students not only competency in the required vocabulary and structures, but providing addtional vocabulary essential for communicating about their world  and country (such things as mobile phone, inbox, keyboard, fundraising, ferns etc)

The New Curriculum. Using this resource is an ideal way to implement the new curriculum.

Managing Self: Students can access this resource in their own time any place

Relating to others: Group work using wikis is an ideal way of collaborating

Participating and collaborating: Students should be encouraged to contribute their own material which other students can edit and comment on.

Thinking: The questions  in this wiki encourage students to think and express opinions beyond the text.

Using language symbols and text:The resource expects students to answer in full sentences in the target language as this is the best way to internalise new voabulary and structures for use in further writing and speaking. As a wiki is an editable resource students can work together and edit each other's work at any time from any computer world wide. Students are able to collaborate on projects  set as homework or in class.

Inside the full wiki resource, each subscribing school will have its own folder to save students' work.

In addition students can load  photos of their own school trip and add their own writing about New Caledonia or Tahiti  to the site to be shared by others. This should form part of  an e-portfolio for your students
